Gigi Rigolatto Val d’Isère is a premium mountain destination at Le Refuge de Solaise, an alpine retreat that stands today as the highest hotel in France. With his head often in the clouds, Gigi believes in the fortifying benefits of fresh mountain air and encourages guests to make the most of the expansive terrace of his Val d’Isère outpost. It is here that diners can relax and bask in the sun for a leisurely lunch after a morning of skiing as they impatiently wait for one of Gigi’s signature dishes.
The essentials of Italian gastronomy, expertly executed, are artfully presented on the plate. Cheese lovers will adore the gratinated dishes – of which there are plenty – with a selection of locally sourced handcrafted raw and pasteurised cheeses.
Three nights a week Gigi Rigolatto becomes the spot for after-dark adventures as guests soak up the warmth of the travertine fireplace and marvel at the live performances as a transalpine feast is prepared.
