Its sought-after location in the 16th arrondissement makes Girafe Paris the perfect place for a special occasion. Then again, at Girafe, celebrating happens every day, so why wait for a special date? With its setting fusing classic Parisian elegance with a carefree spirit, the menu pays tribute to France’s rich maritime heritage, while fully embracing the present. Designed by Joseph Dirand, a French architect who prides himself on seeing the world through a different lens, the décor is both understated and unexpected. Cream-coloured banquettes, a marble bar, tropical plants and original pilasters work in tandem to create a space that is intimate and show-stopping.
Meticulous thought and care have gone into the tight seafood-focused menu with fresh fare caught from the French coast.
There are oysters to start, a myriad of raw offerings, and an impressive selection of whole fish including daurade, turbot and sole. Standout dishes include the St. Jacques scallops dressed in a rich hazelnut butter, and the perfectly al dente, sweet and saline lobster pasta. A carefully studied wine list features an ample selection of prominent labels.
